10 pounds down 32 pounds to go!

"And when I was in the trunk, I saw Jesus."

Yesterday ended with so many points when I look at the number I forget the first digit by the time I get to the last. It was pretty bad. I'm hoping today is going to be better and when I look at the week as a whole I want to feel better about it. I have a lot to figure out still, especially when it comes to finding filling meals. I have to keep reminding myself about forever and how I can find ways to make this work forever I just have to work with it more. I first looked at it like a jigsaw, trying to fit my meals into the frame and now I'm realizing I have to change the shape of the pieces more than I thought.

I was telling Matt about how hungry I was yesterday and I can see how he doesn't really understand. It's not like a craving when you'd do anything for a piece of cake or a cookie it's like a gas tank being empty and I don't care what it is that I eat as long as it's filling. I need to take advantage of that, the fuel aspect instead of the want. It's going to be a long haul of change.

I'm no expert, but when I'm feeling like that, and I have felt that way A LOT, lean protein makes it go away. Like: if I eat a whole wheat English muffin for breakfast, I feel that way. But if I melt some cheese on it (OR, even better, if I just skip the muffin and eat egg whites), I don't have that feeling.

Again, not an expert. But I'm in touch with that hollowness. And the protein helped me so I thought I'd share! Take care and feel better soon!

I'm still learning how to help myself as well, but I find that soup gives me the volume and nutrition I'm usually craving. That it's hot helps too.

I used to have crazy hunger pains, too. I had a hard-and-fast rule about not eating after dinner, and by bedtime my stomach was rumbling so loudly that my wife complained. But the funny thing is that after a while, the rumbling subsided (I actually kind of missed it in a weird sort of way), and then the hunger did, too. It's hard to get past that hungry-mungry point, but it does get better.

So I thought of you today, when I realized that the weird sound in the room was my stomach rumbling. And then I realized it was the horrifying hollow feeling you'd just talked about. And then I thought about how I said, hey have some lean protein. So I did. And guess what? Didn't work. It was still so hollow feeling. And that's how I feel right now. Am going to try having a huge salad with my dinner. But I haven't been this hungry in SO long! (I used to be a low carber and never felt this way. Now am officially worried. Do you think carbs have anything to do with it?)

All of this to say, if you find the answer, will you let me know?

I'll definitely let you know! I found a good snowshoeing breakfast is a bagel, egg and cheese sandwich at 7 points which is the same as my smart start breakfast but more filling. One breakfast down lots of meals to go!
