my big fat spouse website. nothing surprises me anymore. i can't comment, but for heaven's sake...there's got to be something better to do with your time folks.
Wow. I checked it out, and it's horrid. The stuff people are saying to one another. It's more men than women, but there are plenty of those too. It's not often you stumble into something truly vile and poisionous! Eeek.
Oy. Its really mean-spirited. On one hand, there are a few things that seperate "reasons" from "excuses", but its very ill-informed, and seems to be more of a place for people to vent their hate for the overweight supposedly "loved" ones. I want to grab all their spouses and tell them to leave if the posters here don't like it.
Ironically, the "are you an enabler" doesn't even address a lot of the TRUE symptoms of an enabler: they all prey on the supposition that the large partner has an easily triggered self-control reflex, and nothing like helping their partner identify and attack the root of their issues, such as the stress, etc.
This site is a reminder that we have a LOT of misinformation to combat, that there are people who really believe this crap.
I note that there is NO information (such as professional qualifications, "my personal story", NOTHING) that would indicate exactly where the site host is coming from. S/he just is angry that somebody in their life is fat, and he's choosing to battle it with (what s/he believes to be) "tough love." Yeah, right.
I pity the person who is married to the webmaster of that site.
If having a good-looking spouse is so important to these people, they better be prepared to get divorced and married every decade. We all get wrinkly and old eventually, if not fat.
