fat for film

i'm kind of bummed about toni collete (colette, collette...too lazy to google). i always thought she was one of the few good and attractive actresses who got really great parts despite not being the hollywood anorexic ideal. but no. on the special features of in her shoes (v. cute by the way) she said it was really hard for her to gain weight for this role. i'm completely blown away. i loved her believing that she represented normal women and did so much in an industry which so vehemently shuns reality and those that represent it. but then it's not her job to represent the fat girls who yearn to see themselves reflected in media, it's her job to go to work and make money just like anyone else. i, myself, take pride in representing fat girl bank tellers everywhere...but then that's me.

ofcourse, i still love her. she's still ridiculously talented and adorable and i love anyone who gets to tell hugh grant she's not attracted to him on film. but she's skinny. i can't believe she put on 25 pounds for that role and she's still more svelte than anyone i know in real life. damn it, i need a job where i get paid to put on 25 pounds. she swore she'd never get fat for a role again, but as they say the proof is in the pudding. if there's a shortage of fat girls in hollywood i'm on the first plane.

your kidding me? i thought she was always that size! i couldn't imagine her being skinnier..

do you know who also lost a ton of weight, a former chubby girl? Sara Rue (sp?) She was in that show Popular. Thats all I can think of. She doesn't even look like her former self. Freaky.

Didn't Julia Roberts say her worst nightmare happened on the set of the movie (can't remember the title but she was the sister to Catherine-Zeta Jones)she fell asleep skinny and woke up fat because they put her in a body suit!

Is Cameron Mannheim still around?

And what about Renée Zellweger? The way she gained weight for Bridget Jones Diary, then lost it for Chicago, then gained it again for Bridget Jones Diary II? I wish I could lose weight that quickly and easily. Then again, I am not a celeb with lots of money that can afford a chef and a personal trainer!

yeah...Renee...honestly...she body type held on to the weight around her midsection and upper half. She still had tiny legs!!!

Kate Winslet...gorgeous....

i couldn't believe that she gained weight for her parts (toni) i really thought that was her normal self. i can't imagine going to every audition and them saying "you're great but you have to be fatter" with our culture that's just so terrible to be that one actress that it's ok to tell her she has to be fat. renee zellweger too, but she really wanted to be bridget jones so she had to gain to be considered, it's sort of opposite.

i remember sarah rue's name but i can't remember her fatter, google gave me alot of skinny pictures.

i didn't hear about julia roberts fat suit, but remember gwyneth paltrow's? she was like shocked at how people treated her so badly. HELLO!
